Clove x Clara: All About Our Exciting First Ever Collaboration

Who is Clara?

Clara Jones started as a labor & delivery (L&D) nurse and is now a Nurse Practitioner who has a 91k following on social media. She is a proud founding member of the Clove Collective, and uses her voice to initiate positive change in the healthcare community. Nurse Clara dedicates a lot of her time and effort towards advocating for the Asian American and Pacific Islanders community. Plus, she’s just an all-around cool person.

Why Did Clove Choose Clara to Collaborate With?

For our first ever collaboration, we really wanted to emphasize the love that roots Clove and the people who have helped get us to where we are today. Nurse Clara has been with us since the beginning, has made groundbreaking contributions to the healthcare community, and knows firsthand the importance of comfortable nursing shoes. So, the real question is why wouldn’t we choose Clara to join us in our very first sneaker collaboration?

Does the Unique Design Mean Anything?

The special design of the Clara 1 shoe showcases Clara’s multi-faceted personality as a mentor, healthcare & lifestyle influencer, and advocate for the AAPI community. It encourages healthcare professionals to embrace all parts of their identity - personal, professional, and cultural.

The Color

The blush tone represents intimacy and vulnerability, some of the attributes that healthcare providers exercise every day.

The Pattern

The mugunghwa flower, also known as the Rose of Sharon, is placed on the sneaker’s insert. It is the national flower of South Korea and represents resilience and strength - “flowers that never fade.”

The Band

The sneaker has a V-shaped band on the shoe’s upper - exclusive to the Clara 1 - adding a sleek, minimalist air to the design.

More to Feel Good About

Clove and Nurse Clara will be donating $10,000 to the Asian Mental Health Project, which provides resources to make mental healthcare more accessible to the AAPI community. This donation will help the foundation pay for professionals to host virtual sessions in their community, free of charge.
